Role

Account Manager – Location: Whitwick, UK. Full Time: 37.5 hours per week, 08:30 – 17:00. Contract Type: Permanent. Salary: £28,000 – £32,000.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a portfolio of key customer accounts to achieve sales targets and budgets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • Collaborate with Field Sales Representatives and Sales Managers to maximise sales opportunities.
  • Manage customer enquiries and quotations within agreed deadlines.
  • Maintain and update Area Contract Files.
  • Process and manage cash sales transactions and support effective credit management procedures.
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends.
  • Assist in the creation of sales budgets and performance targets.
  • Produce accurate weekly performance reports for management.
  • Provide support across other sales areas when required.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Good general standard of education.
  • Previous experience in an account management, sales, or customer‑facing commercial role.
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • Good commercial awareness and customer focus.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer systems.
  • Ability to produce accurate and concise reports.

Essential Knowledge & Skills

  • Understanding of asphalt and aggregate products.
  • Knowledge of Salesnet.
  • Understanding of operational and order processing procedures.
  • Awareness of competitor activity and market dynamics.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative abilities.
  • Experience with SAP Cash Sales Procedures, Order Processing, Basic Product Knowledge, Competition Act Compliance, and Glennigans Powerplay.

Desirable

  • Telephone selling skills.
  • Sales training experience.
