Midland Pressure Diecasting is a well-established and expanding UK manufacturer specialising in high-pressure aluminium die casting for automotive, utilities, aerospace, medical and general engineering markets. To support this growth, and due to retirement of key personnel, we are strengthening our management team and seeking an experienced Quality Manager / Lead Quality Engineer to lead, develop, and continuously improve our quality management systems and culture.
The successful candidate will take ownership of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure full compliance with:
- The key priority for this role will be to lead the business to successful certification to IATF 16949 within the timeframe of 6 - 12 months, and to embed the standard as a foundation of our Quality Management System.
You will play a key role in maintaining certification, driving continuous improvement, supporting customer requirements, and embedding best-in-class quality practices across the business.
Quality Management Systems- Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of IATF 16949, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 management systems.
- Act as primary quality interface for customers.
- Lead investigation and resolution of customer complaints using 8D, root cause analysis, and corrective action methodology.
- Develop and monitor supplier quality performance.
- Implement lean and quality improvement tools (Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma principles).
- Use data and KPIs to monitor performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the quality team.
- Promote a strong quality and compliance culture throughout the organisation.
Proven experience in a manufacturing quality role (automotive or die casting preferred). Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills. Experience within pressure die casting or metal manufacturing. Experience managing a quality team.
