As part of our continued growth and expansion, we are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer and/or CNC Machinist to join our dynamic and versatile team. This role is integral to overseeing production processes, driving continuous improvement, and supporting lean manufacturing initiatives to enhance our operational efficiency.
This is a full-time, on-site role, based at Midland Pressure Diecasting Limited's Willenhall Site. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing manufacturing processes, machining operations, and engineering tasks, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency in production.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Criteria- CNC Machining & Programming
- Able to program and set up CNC machines with Fanuc controls for both vertical milling and turning operations.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to ensure parts are manufactured to precise tolerances.
- Utilize CAD/CAM software (preferably Creo and Fusion 360) for programming and process optimization.
- Manufacturing & Process Improvement
- Support the Sales Team in cost estimation for new projects, including customer interactions to ensure feasibility.
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Work closely with the Manufacturing Engineering Team Lead and Senior Engineers to achieve production targets.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, advising on Design for Manufacture (DFM) to enhance production workflows.
- Assist in investigating and implementing process improvements for enhanced operational performance.
- Technical & Leadership Skills
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Hands-on experience in tooling design and implementation to support production.
- Train and mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Perform routine machine maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities efficiently.
