Are you a passionate leader with experience in housing management and a commitment to improving the lives of older people? If so, we want you to join us as the Retirement Living Manager for Mutual schemes, leading the delivery of a high-quality housing management service that meets the needs and aspirations of our Mutuals customers. You'll oversee the proactive management of over 17 schemes while adopting a landlord-first ethos to address wider housing management issues. This role is covering a patch including South Birmingham, Hereford and Gloucester.

Responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:

  • Operational oversight of the Mutuals portfolio and all services delivered.
  • Leading a team of Scheme Managers to deliver excellent housing management services that are responsive to the needs of our customers.
  • Supporting strong engagement with Mutuals committees, ensuring that resident voice influences the services that we deliver and how we deliver them, with a focus on driving positive resident satisfaction in a leasehold environment.
  • Managing budgets, service charges, and financial performance of the Mutuals portfolio.

What're we looking for?

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

  • Exceptional leadership skills, evidenced by experience of developing, motivating and managing geographically dispersed teams.
  • Knowledge or experience of Housing and Housing Management practices, ideally within a Social Housing setting.
  • Experience and knowledge of general building safety and compliance.
  • It is desirable that the successful candidate has achieved or is willing to work towards a Level 4 Housing qualification.

Our colleagues deliver services from the location that they are best delivered on any given day. This means that you should expect to work from a Midland Heart site as a minimum of 3 days a week (on average).
