Job Overview

Are you a natural problem-solver, have great communication skills and pride yourself on providing a brilliant customer service? If yes, then look no further – our Housing Operations team are recruiting a Money Advisor to provide vital support to our customers, helping them maximise their income and manage their money with confidence.

Please note: This is a Fixed-Term contract currently up until April 2027.

We own 34,000 quality homes for social and affordable rent across the Midlands, and one of our keys to success is ensuring our tenants feel secure in their homes. Your role as a Money Advisor will be to provide specialist advice and support to our customers on benefits, debt, and income maximisation.

Responsibilities

  • Providing advice to tenants to ensure they receive their full entitlement of benefits, including help with appeals where required.
  • Supporting tenants in financial difficulty by offering debt management advice, negotiating with creditors, and assisting with legal remedies such as Debt Relief or Bankruptcy Orders.
  • Helping tenants maximise their income by developing tailored income support plans.
  • Advising and supporting colleagues on money advice matters to improve outcomes for tenants.
  • Producing reports and statistics to help monitor and improve the performance of the service.

Although this is primarily an office-based role, there will be some flexibility for home working in line with our Smart Working approach.

Qualifications

  • A recognised Money Advice qualification.
  • Experience providing expert support and money advice to customers in a Housing related setting, including support with benefits, income management and debt advice.
  • Administration experience including the use of basic IT systems such as Northgate and Microsoft Office.
