Your career. Our communities. One purpose.
We\’ve spent more than a century building something that lasts — not just homes, but opportunities, communities, and futures. Today, with over £300 million being invested in our homes and pioneering projects like Project 100, our first net-zero housing community, we\’re looking ahead to the next 100 years. We\’re taking on some of the biggest challenges in housing — from sustainability and building safety to tackling damp, mould and fuel poverty — and we need the next generation of surveyors to help us get there.
That\’s where you come in.
The Role
As a Graduate Surveyor, you\’ll embark on a structured 2½-year programme, fully funded and mentor-led and designed to lead you to RICS chartership. Although you\’ll be offered a Graduate position in one of the following departments, you\’ll rotate amongst all three during the programme, immersing yourself in:
* Repairs & Maintenance: Conduct pre- and post-works surveys, author reports, coordinate remediation and repairs, and consult with tenants to ensure a high-quality repairs service.
* Property Investment: Model retrofit and modernisation options, support energy-efficiency upgrades, and drive greener, more affordable housing that\’s fit for modern living.
* Building Safety: Ensure the highest standard of building safety in our homes, conducting pre- and post-works surveys in electrical, water and fire & lifesaving systems.
* Property Development: Source land, draft feasibility studies and business cases, manage procurement, and deliver high-quality new homes.
What you\’ll do:
* Investigate & Solve Problems: You\’ll be out on site inspecting everything from new builds to century-old homes, spotting issues like damp or structural faults and helping design practical fixes. Working directly with tenants, you\’ll explain findings clearly and make sure their voices shape the solutions we deliver.
* Deliver Transformational Projects: From replacing kitchens and roofs to delivering large-scale safety and retrofit upgrades, you\’ll help transform thousands of homes. As part of our £300m investment mission, you\’ll make properties across the Midlands warmer, greener and safer in line with new standards like Awaab\’s Law.
* Shape the Future of Housing: You\’ll support land sourcing, feasibility studies and procurement, working with contractors, architects and engineers to bring new developments to life — including Project 100, our first net zero housing community.
* Collaborate & Lead: Working alongside experienced surveyors and contract managers, you\’ll contribute to complex, high-impact projects. You\’ll also lead a capstone project tackling a real housing challenge, presenting your ideas to senior leaders and building the skills and confidence for life as a Chartered Surveyor.
Our ideal candidate?
We\’re looking for people with curiosity, drive and heart. If you\’re a final-year student or recent graduate with a 2:1 or above in a RICS-accredited degree (such as Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Construction or Real Estate), you\’ll already have the technical foundations. What will set you apart is your mindset — the desire to solve problems, work collaboratively, and see how your skills can make life better for others.
You\’ll need resilience, adaptability and a genuine interest in people. Because here, every survey, report and project connects back to someone\’s home — and that\’s what makes the work matter.
