Our Building Surveyor (Retrofit & Planned Maintenance) role has real purpose. With roles within both our Planned Maintenance Team and Retrofit Team, you could play a central part in delivering energy efficiency upgrades or improving the quality of homes through planned major component replacement programmes (kitchens, bathrooms, windows, roofs) – all while ensuring that our tenants are informed, engaged, and supported every step of the way.

What’s the role? Responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Leading and managing a high-performing team of Surveyors.
- Conducting property inspections and collecting detailed data to assess planned maintenance or retrofit needs.
- Leading delivery of our whole house modernisation project, carbon reduction/sustainability initiatives, and major component replacements.
- Monitoring contractor performance, managing budgets, and producing reports that keep our retrofit strategy on track.
- Engaging and communicating with tenants to explain upcoming works, manage expectations, and ensure smooth delivery.
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, CDM, and retrofit legislation.
- Working closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver a programme that meets energy efficiency and tenant satisfaction goals.
Our ideal candidate? Your CV and cover letter will highlight:
- A relevant HNC or equivalent qualification, or significant equivalent work experience.
- Significant technical experience in construction or maintenance related contract management.
- Experience managing budgets and completing the associated financial administration.
