Our growing In-House Maintenance Team is seeking an experienced, people-focused supervisor to join us as a Trade Apprentice Supervisor. This role will support apprentice development through effective supervision, mentoring and on-the-job training. This is a great opportunity for a motivated people leader with a strong track record of driving performance, developing people and delivering high-quality repairs services. This role is crucial in growing our own & ultimately ensuring our tenants' homes are well maintained and remain places they are proud to call home. You will be joining a class-leading in-house repairs service, supervising frontline delivery while playing a key role in developing the next generation of skilled tradespeople and maintaining Midland Heart's professional standards.
Responsibilities
- Supporting a team of apprentices through their qualification, ensuring they attend college and complete their apprenticeship requirements, supporting their learning and development.
- Leading and mentoring Trades apprentices through effective supervision, on-the-job training and performance management, ensuring progress against trade standards and competencies.
- Planning and allocating work to ensure service priorities, apprentice development needs, KPIs and quality standards are consistently met.
- Ensuring full compliance with health and safety legislation, Midland Heart policies and statutory requirements, promoting a strong culture of safety and professionalism.
- Completing post-inspections, maintaining accurate records and certification, and ensuring works are completed to specification and contractual requirements.
Qualifications
- A relevant qualification in a building-related discipline, site management, or equivalent knowledge gained through relevant experience.
- Experience of supporting colleagues with early careers development, including overseeing apprenticeships and providing coaching.
- Proven people management experience in a repairs and maintenance environment, including managing performance against set KPIs.
- Strong knowledge of construction practices, health & safety legislation and CDM regulations.
