We're a housing association, here to provide safe, affordable homes and to build stronger communities across the Midlands. We’re offering students the chance to intern in our People Services team – where you’ll gain practical experience in HR, learning how we attract, develop, and support colleagues to deliver the best for our tenants.

Summer Internship: 8-10 weeks between 15th June – August 2026

Your Role:

You’ll apply your academic knowledge to real-world challenges – working alongside experienced HR professionals whilst gaining exposure to a wide range of HR practices including employee relations, learning and development, and wellbeing initiatives. You’ll develop a first-hand appreciation of how HR underpins our mission to provide safe, affordable housing by attracting, developing and supporting the colleagues who make it happen.

Your day to day will see you:

  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and induction processes for new colleagues.
  • Assisting with HR administration, including maintaining accurate colleague records and preparing reports.
  • Contributing to HR projects focused on engagement, wellbeing, and diversity and inclusion.
  • Helping coordinate training and development activities.
  • Taking part in project work, mentoring, and development activities as part of your internship.

What we’re looking for:

  • Currently studying (or recently completed) a degree in Human Resource Management, Business Studies, Psychology, or a related discipline.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • An interest in developing a career in HR.
  • Enthusiasm, openness to feedback, and a genuine desire to learn.
