Use your financial expertise to influence decisions that help improve lives.
We believe that great homes build better lives. Behind the scenes of our 34,000+ homes across the Midlands is a high-performing Finance team making strategic decisions that drive value, compliance and impact.
Join us now as a Finance Business Partner, a highly collaborative role where you'll be the trusted finance voice for the business, helping colleagues make confident, well-informed decisions about where and how we invest.
What you'll be doing:
- Building relationships that matter. This is a true partnership role. You'll get to know the people behind day-to-day delivery, from functional directors to operational managers and earn their trust as a critical friend: supportive, approachable and willing to offer robust challenge when it counts.
- Shaping investment decisions. You will assess risks and opportunities and support decisions using data and scenario planning, making sure our decisions align with our corporate strategy and deliver real value for money for our tenants.
- Telling the story behind the numbers. You'll own management accounts, annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for your area, explaining what is driving performance and what it means for the long term.
- Growing financial confidence across the business. You'll provide regular analysis to stakeholders in your area, design and deliver budget holder training, helping non-finance colleagues build their own financial understanding and budget management skills.
- Looking for better ways of working. You'll review processes and controls, keep a firm grip on compliance, and take a professional lead on strategic projects that supports our wider Finance strategy.
Our Ideal Candidate?
We're looking for someone who is as strong with people as they are with numbers:
- A qualified, newly qualified or finalist Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
- Experience in management accounts, commercial finance or project accounting, including budgeting and forecasting.
- A natural relationship builder who can partner with stakeholders at every level, communicate clearly to non-finance audiences, and challenge constructively without losing goodwill.
- Organised and accurate under pressure, able to juggle priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, SUMIFs, pivot tables) and the ability to turn large or complex data sets into clear, practical recommendations.
Working with us:
This is a Hybrid role however it will be mainly office-based. We ask our Finance Business Partners to be in the office four days per week. Being alongside the teams you partner with is a big part of how you'll build strong relationships and have real influence. Time in the office may increase during key reporting cycles, depending on business needs. That said, we know life doesn't always run to a timetable. We're a flexible employer, and we trust our people to balance their commitments when the unexpected comes up.
