We want you to join us as our Electrical Compliance & Risk Manager (12 month fixed-term contract until January 2027); a key role ensuring our homes remain safe, compliant and well-maintained.

You will lead the delivery of our electrical testing and non-gas compliance programmes, managing a skilled team and driving high performance through our contractors, helping ensure our services meet the rigorous expectations of modern building safety regulation.

Responsibilities

  • Programme & Contract Management – Lead the planning, procurement, delivery and financial oversight of our electrical testing, non-gas heating, remedials and repair programmes, acting as lead contract administrator and driving contractor performance against SLAs and KPIs.
  • Data, Records & Assurance – Maintain accurate, aligned compliance data and certification across core systems, ensuring robust validation, risk reporting and audit readiness.
  • Stakeholder & Tenant Engagement – Work collaboratively with tenants, colleagues, contractors and partners to support safe access, communicate safety information clearly and deliver a positive tenant experience.
  • Service Improvement & Innovation – Review and refine processes, drive improvements through lessons learned and stay up to date with emerging technologies and sector developments.
  • Leadership & Team Management – Lead, motivate and develop the electric and non-gas teams, ensuring high performance and strong support for colleagues.

Our ideal candidate

  • Have significant technical experience in property compliance, electrical safety, maintenance contract management within Housing or a relevant industry.
  • Are an experienced people manager, able to lead teams and drive contractor performance through clear expectations and confident decision-making.
  • Possess excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, able to explain technical requirements clearly and build strong professional relationships.
  • Are comfortable working with data and compliance systems, ensuring accuracy, clarity and robust reporting.

Midland Heart operates Smart Working practices, through which colleagues deliver services from the location they are best delivered on any given day. The successful candidate should therefore expect to work from a Midland Heart site a minimum of 3 days per week, with the remainder worked remotely.
