Do you enjoy investigating complex building defects and finding long-term solutions rather than simply treating the symptoms? With the introduction of Awaab's Law, there has never been a more important time to join Midland Heart.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Damp & Mould Surveyor to join us on a Fixed-Term Contract till the 31st August 2027.
This is far more than a traditional Damp & Mould Surveyor role. You\'ll investigate technically challenging building defects, diagnose root causes, manage specialist repairs and play a key role in ensuring our residents live in safe, healthy homes. Working across our housing portfolio, you\'ll help shape our response to Awaab\'s Law while supporting customers through some of the most complex repair cases we manage.
Why Join Midland Heart?
This isn\'t a role where you\'ll simply inspect damp and mould before passing the work on.
You\'ll investigate complex building pathology, work on high-profile housing disrepair and Housing Ombudsman cases, manage specialist contractors and help deliver long-term technical solutions that improve customers\' homes and lives.
Working within our Specialist Repairs Team offers genuine variety, professional autonomy and the opportunity to develop expertise in residential building surveying, building pathology and complex defect investigation.
We\'re committed to investing in surveying talent and welcome applications from experienced surveyors who can demonstrate strong technical aptitude and a desire to continue developing their expertise. Where appropriate, appointments may be made at a developmental grade with a structured development plan and clear progression into the full Damp & Mould Surveyor role.
As a Damp & Mould Surveyor, you\'ll be responsible for Investigating and managing complex building defects by:
- Investigating damp and mould cases in accordance with Awaab\'s Law
- Diagnosing the root cause of defects using evidence-based surveying techniques

- Undertaking pre and post inspections to ensure works are completed to the required quality standard
- Supporting housing disrepair claims, complaints and Housing Ombudsman investigations

You will join:
Our Specialist Repairs Team, working alongside experienced Surveyors and Contract Managers to deliver technically robust repair solutions across Midland Heart\'s housing portfolio.
You\'ll have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of complex residential building defects, helping ensure our homes remain safe, compliant and fit for the future.
