Are you a communications professional who wants to make a real difference in local communities? We're looking for a Local Campaigns Officer to help make sure our tenants' voices are heard where it matters most.
In this role, you'll be the vital link between our tenants, colleagues and local decision-makers. You'll build relationships across your region, understand the issues that matter most to tenants, and work with local partners to help drive positive change. You'll also share the stories that showcase the difference we're making in our neighbourhoods and serve as a key contact for councillors and MPs when they need to raise issues with us.
This is a varied and visible role for someone who is passionate about campaigning, stakeholder engagement and making a tangible impact in the communities they support.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Capturing, recording and monitoring the issues affecting our tenants and services in our neighbourhoods.
- Turning those issues into clear local policy asks and sharing them with the right people, such as Councillors, MPs, community groups, local police teams and council officers.
- Spotting when an issue is affecting more than one person and proactively developing local campaigns for change.
- Working with our Public Policy Lead to make sure our national influencing work reflects tenants' day-to-day experiences.
- Setting up meetings between our senior leaders and key stakeholders, and supporting the wider External Affairs team with local and national events.
- Professional knowledge of local and regional politics and the workings of local government, with a good understanding of local, regional and national government.
- Experience of delivering and managing highly effective communications projects for a large and complex organisation.
- Experience of effectively advising and influencing peers and senior internal and external stakeholders.
- A degree, or an equivalent level of expertise gained through significant work experience in communications, marketing or digital.
