Do you have experience carrying out Fire Door repairs, Fire Door installations, or Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) remedial works? Are you passionate about delivering high-quality repairs that help keep residents safe in their homes? If so, we'd love to hear from you. We're looking for a Multi Trade Operative to join our Disrepair Team working across the Northampton, Coventry, Birmingham and Staffordshire areas. Supporting the delivery of Fire Door maintenance, FRA remedial works, and general property repairs across our housing portfolio. As a Multi Trade Operative, you'll be responsible for:

  • Diagnosing and completing a wide range of responsive repairs and planned maintenance works across occupied and void properties
  • Carrying out Fire Door repairs, adjustments, replacements, and associated remedial works in line with relevant regulations and standards
  • Completing works identified through Fire Risk Assessments (FRA), helping to maintain safe and compliant homes for our tenants
  • Ensuring all work is completed 'right first time' whilst delivering an excellent customer experience
  • Working in accordance with current building regulations, health & safety legislation, and Midland Heart policies and procedures
  • Procuring materials efficiently and maintaining accurate records of completed works
  • Participating in the out-of-hours emergency repairs service on a rota basis
  • Supporting the achievement of key performance measures including productivity, quality, customer satisfaction, and appointment keeping

As a Multi Trade Operative, you'll play a vital role in ensuring that our 35,000 homes are places that people love to live in. Working in both occupied and empty properties, you'll diagnose and complete a broad range of repairs and maintenance activities and may also support special projects such as aids and adaptations. Depending on your trade specialisms, work may include:

  • Carpentry & Joinery – fitting doors, kitchens, floorboards and associated repairs
  • Plumbing – fitting bathroom suites, changing taps, repairing toilets and pipework
  • Plastering – patch repairs, full walls, ceilings and rooms
  • Decorating – painting walls, ceilings and woodwork
  • Fire Door Repairs & Installations – ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations and standards
  • FRA Remedial Works – completing works arising from Fire Risk Assessments
