Role Description

The Weekday Summer Winch Driver will operate the club's winch system to assist in the launch of gliders during operations. Responsibilities include:

  • The safe operation of winch equipment
  • Conducting regular maintenance checks
  • Assisting with vehicle and equipment troubleshooting
  • Ensuring the timely support of gliding activities

The role requires clear communication with ground and air operations teams to ensure safety and efficiency. This is a full-time, on-site role based in SY6 6TA.

Qualifications & Further Info

We are seeking a TEMPORARY PT RELIEF WEEKDAY WINCH DRIVER to join our friendly team, at our beautiful hilltop site during the summer season.

YOU WILL BE:

  • Operating the glider launch winch
  • Making repairs to winches (DIY car mechanic ability, nothing too complicated!)
  • Maintaining airfield vehicles

YOU NEED TO BE:

  • Self-reliant – ultimately working on your own and defining priorities
  • Responsible for the safety of oneself, club members and members of the public

HOURS: Mon - Fri, 8:30am - 6pm. Working 2 weeks in four (though this can be flexible & agreed amongst the team) from mid-April to mid-summer (possibly even to mid-September, with an additional 4 weeks' work during the remainder of the year).
