As a part of our continued commitment to developing the next generation of engineers, we are looking for several ambitious individuals looking for a long successful career within our family run business. Midland Fire is an Electrical Contractor specialising in fire alarm installation and life safety systems. We have a varied portfolio of works within the education, commercial, industrial and public sectors. We expect our staff to have a 'can do' approach and who will help the company achieve its goals. We are passionate about personal development and actively encourage progression within the team.
This role involves training to become a qualified installation electrician. This 4 year apprenticeship will involve on the job training, and block release classroom training via Derby College and Burton Training Organisation Limited. Successful completion will gain a level 3 Electrotechnical qualification.
The candidates should have both theoretical and practical skills, and will need to pass theory exams and practical assessments to progress. The place of work will vary, and sites include Universities, Public Sector Properties, Commercial and Industrial Environments based across the Midlands and further afield on occasions. Working within small teams.
The candidate should have the accessibility to start work early and to be picked up from our offices in Tutbury, or other areas of Burton-on-Trent. Hours of work will vary and finish times may change, a basic week will be a minimum of 40 hours.
Person Specification- Have good theoretical and practical skills
- Clear communication skills
- A confident, friendly manner & strong interpersonal skills
- Have an interest in electrical installation and theory
- Have GCSE or equivalent grade level 4 (grade C) or above in English, Maths & Science
- Be willing to work at height, and capable of manual handling
- Have ability to use hand tools and battery drill
- Full time 40 hour basic week.
