Are you an experienced Infrastructure Engineer looking to make a real impact in a fast‑paced, evolving technology environment? At Cabot Credit Management, we’re searching for a hands‑on technical expert to help support and deliver our core technology services across the business. While your primary focus will be on UK operations, you’ll also play a key role in understanding and contributing to our wider European technology needs. In this role, you’ll be part of our IT Operations function, providing high‑level (3rd line) support and technical leadership across a diverse range of infrastructure platforms. You’ll take ownership of complex issues, drive system optimisation, and contribute to the successful delivery of key projects. What you can expect as an Infrastructure Engineer:

  • Salary of up to £65,000
  • Permanent Hybrid – Kings Hill, ME19 4UA.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Embed service availability into solution design and daily operations.
  • Lead vulnerability and patch management across infrastructure platforms.
  • Validate infrastructure elements of project work and provide technical expertise for delivery.
  • Stay current with infrastructure technologies and contribute to IT governance and security.
  • Deliver new functionality while maintaining stable, high‑quality services.
  • Plan and execute annual disaster recovery testing.
  • Operate within ITIL practices, supporting change, incident, and problem management.
  • Support audit and compliance requirements (e.g., SOX, PCI‑DSS).
  • Manage relationships with technology and security vendors.
  • Integrate security considerations into hardware, software, and lifecycle decisions.
  • Maintain in‑scope systems and provide 2nd/3rd line escalation support, including out‑of‑hours when required.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and perform preventative maintenance across infrastructure services.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to resolve technical challenges and high‑impact issues.
  • Ensure all work complies with regulatory and legal obligations.

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong expertise in Windows Server platforms.
  • Experience with VMware and Microsoft AVD.
  • Microsoft Exchange (2016/2019 Hybrid), Office 365, and PowerShell scripting.
  • Familiarity with Dell Servers and NetApp OntapAFF A900.
  • SAN/NAS storage.
  • Veeam Backup and Replication.
  • Web technologies (IIS, .NET).
  • Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DFS, DHCP, WINS.
  • Windows/SQL clustering.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Understanding of ITIL processes and service management.
