As an IT Infrastructure Engineer at Cabot Credit Management, you will play a key role in delivering and supporting robust, secure, and scalable technology services across our organisation. With a primary focus on UK operations and an awareness of wider European business needs, you’ll take a hands‑on approach to infrastructure support, system administration, and project delivery. Operating within our IT Operations team, you’ll provide expert 3rd line support and technical leadership across a diverse technology landscape – proactively troubleshooting, optimising systems, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure our IT services remain reliable, resilient, and fit for the future.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Ensure high availability, reliability, and security are embedded across infrastructure and service delivery.
  • Lead vulnerability management, patching, and preventative maintenance across platforms.
  • Provide technical leadership and 3rd line support, resolving complex and high‑impact incidents.
  • Review, validate, and contribute to infrastructure design and project delivery.
  • Support IT governance, compliance, and audits (including SOX, PCI‑DSS), ensuring adherence to controls and regulations.
  • Operate within ITIL frameworks, managing incidents, problems, and changes effectively.
  • Plan and execute disaster recovery testing to ensure business continuity.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise systems to maintain performance and integrity.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and vendors to deliver and support services.
  • Integrate security and best practice into all technology and lifecycle decisions.
  • Support ongoing system administration, service improvements, and out‑of‑hours escalation where required.

Essential

  • Expert level NetApp Ontap and AFF skills.
  • Strong expertise in Windows Server platforms.
  • Experience with VMware and Microsoft AVD.
  • Microsoft Exchange (2016/2019 Hybrid), Office 365, and PowerShell scripting.
  • Dell Server Hardware knowledge.
  • Veeam Backup and Replication.
  • Web technologies (IIS, .NET).
  • Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DFS, DHCP, WINS.
  • Windows/SQL clustering.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Understanding of ITIL processes and service management.

Desirable

  • Azure administration (servers, storage, networking).
  • Office 365 support (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Intune device management.
  • Security tools (CrowdStrike, Rapid7).
  • Experience in financial services environments.
  • Monitoring tools (e.g., PRTG).
  • Azure Entra administration.
  • Ivanti patching and deployment.
