Midland Classic Restorations are specialists in the restoration of classic cars and historic motorsport preparation. We are a long-established team providing a range of services, including general servicing, full restorations, engine and gearbox rebuilds and performance upgrades. A main focus of our company is historic racing, involving full car builds, preparation, set up and tuning using our in-house rolling road as well as supporting customers during race meetings at tracks worldwide. MCR has established an excellent reputation within the classic car industry both on and off the track and demand for our specialist services continues to grow. To meet this demand, we are seeking to recruit a classic race car technician / fabricator.

Within our Worcestershire based workshop, the successful candidate will work on a variety of marques, such as MG, Porsche and many unique classic race cars. The role is varied and includes service and repair of road and race cars, engine building and performance setup, as well as metal work and fabrication during restorations. Working hours are 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday, with additional weekend work available supporting customers at race meetings throughout the UK.

Essential Requirements

  • A passion for classic cars and motorsport is essential.
  • Minimum five years of experience working in classic car restoration, with a broad mechanical knowledge across multiple manufacturers.
  • Mechanical engineering ability – including panel beating, welding, fabrication and manufacture of precision parts with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of vehicle electrical systems would be an advantage.
  • Ability to work in a small team and independently.
  • Strong communication skills when dealing with customers both in person and on the phone.
  • Full UK driving license is essential with trailer towing experience / license preferred.
