Take responsibility for engaging and inspiring students by delivering high-quality learning, tutorials, and PSHE & RSE subjects, supporting their progress into employment or Higher Education. This includes developing their skills for independence, educating them to safeguard themselves against relevant challenges in modern Britain, monitoring progress, undertaking safeguarding duties, and helping them access College support services. This role is based at our Maidstone campus, and the successful candidate will work 40 weeks of the year, 5 days per week, 8:30-5pm. Main Responsibilities and Duties 1. Teach the skills students need to progress into employment or Higher Education, supporting their personal and academic growth through planned target setting. Deliver group tutorial programmes of up to 30 students, covering safeguarding, relationships, employability, sustainability, drug and alcohol awareness, vaping, health and well-being etc., and raising aspirations to help them develop and prepare for the workplace. 2. Deliver learning using relevant technologies, assessing and providing feedback to students to the required standards, acting as a reference point for additional individual support, continuously developing tutorials to ensure they are engaging and meet the needs of the students. 3. Maintain excellent communication with students, College staff and parents / carers using varied means including ProMonitor. 4. Conduct one-to-one sessions with students to review their progress, provide general catch-ups, and address any welfare concerns, these sessions will ensure students feel supported and have the guidance they need to stay on track with their personal, academic, and career goals. 5. Work collaboratively with the safeguarding team, adhering to Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidelines and liaise with wider College support services, ensuring that all practices align with compliance requirements to provide a safe and supportive environment for students. 6. Monitor students progress, supporting their academic performance, soft skills development, and UCAS applications as needed, maintaining an overview of their overall performance, including attendance, preparation, submission of work, and other factors affecting their journey. 7. Liaise and network with internal College departments, senior staff and other relevant staff, including participating in and contributing to College marketing activities such as external events, open days and visits.
