Description
Support positive and productive stakeholder relationships with businesses in Medway, Maidstone and surrounding areas for the purpose of generating new apprenticeship opportunities to support the ambitious growth of this provision within the College. Responsible for providing proactive advertisement of apprenticeship employment opportunities, sourcing, matching potential trainees / apprentices to employer opportunities in the local area, working with curriculum colleagues to identify students looking to progress into apprenticeships at the end of their full-time courses and attracting new students for apprenticeships at College recruitment events. This will include supporting apprentices through the process of application to enrolment and onto appropriate apprenticeship courses.
Main Responsibilities and Duties
- Proactively engage with local businesses to promote apprenticeships and training offers, supporting local businesses with the recruitment of new apprentices and trainees through proactive advertisement of opportunities on the ‘find an apprenticeship’ service and talent matching from the existing pool of students.
- Liaise with the College curriculum and careers teams on development of a talent pool and sharing of open opportunities. This includes liaising with the College applications team to identify potential apprentices for open opportunities.
- Provide employment/ training opportunity information to students / applicants supporting them to complete an effective application.
- Proactively promote and co-ordinate employer recruitment events.
- Manage the apprenticeship matching service for employers and young people.
- Update the database of employer contacts and employer engagement activity.
- Provide accurate information, advice and guidance to the local business community on training / apprenticeship engagement, both funded and fee paying.
- Support employers and apprentices through the College enrolment process ensuring all compliance measures and checks are met.
