Role Overview
You will be responsible for the delivery, installation, efficient build, and customisation of refrigerated display cases. The role is based at our assembly and warehousing facility in Swindon, though a significant proportion of your time will be spent delivering and installing cases on customer sites. This is a full-time position, typically Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend and overnight work as required to meet installation schedules or customer deadlines.
Hours: 40 per week
Travel: Overnight stays required for distant locations
Key Responsibilities
- Safely load display cases onto vehicles (up to 7.5 tonnes) using forklifts and approved manual handling techniques.
- Transport and deliver cases to customer sites using a 7.5-tonne vehicle under a valid Category C1 licence.
- Carry out accurate, high-quality installations on client sites in line with company procedures, site requirements, and industry best practice.
- Fit accessories, trims, and peripheral components to meet installation specifications.
- Identify, resolve, and document on-site quality or technical issues professionally and promptly.
- Maintain accurate records relating to cabinet builds, installations, and site activities.
- Fully comply with company health, safety, and environmental policies, including any client-specific requirements.
- Assemble, configure, and prepare refrigerated display cabinets at the Earls Barton facility during non-installation periods.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of installation and build processes through feedback and collaboration with operations and engineering teams.
- Support on-site snagging, additional deliveries, or service visits.
- Assist with wider manufacturing or operational projects, particularly during off-season or lower-volume periods.
Essential Skills & Requirements
- Minimum 5 years practical experience in an installation, construction, or engineering role
- Ability to understand, interpret, and follow engineering drawings and operating procedures
- Physically fit - capable of manual handling and able to pass a medical for a C1 licence
- Willingness to travel and stay away from home when required
- Flexibility to work occasional weekends
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Good problem-solving ability and ability to work under pressure
- Team player with the ability to work unsupervised
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to undertake relevant training programmes
Desirable Skills
- Category C1 licence
- CITB Site Safety qualification
- Training in Asbestos Awareness, Working at Heights, Manual Handling, or First Aid at Work
