Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - DAYS ONLY
Key Responsibilities
- Breakdown & Repair: Rapidly diagnose and repair faults in hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Preventative Maintenance: Carry out routine maintenance tasks, such as lubrication, component replacement (filters, gears, valves), and calibration.
- Equipment Coverage: Maintain heavy plant equipment including overhead cranes, mobile plant, and conveyor systems.
- Documentation: Record all maintenance activities, repairs, and technical data in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict health & safety, COSHH, and permit-to-work procedures.
- Operational Support: Work with production teams to optimize plant efficiency and participate in shutdown planning.
Qualifications Required
- Apprenticeship: Time-served apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or Maintenance.
- Education: C&G, HNC, HND, or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, etc.
- Experience: Proven experience in heavy industry, manufacturing, or steel processing would be advantageous.
