Reed Engineering are supporting a long established manufacturer in Norwich who would like someone to join them as a Quotation Engineer, where you will be instrumental in providing Tenders for new business opportunities globally. This role involves coordinating and compiling technical clarifications to ensure their products meet customer requirements, promoting their full portfolio and assisting in product sales.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Prepare Tenders following receipt of customer requests for quotation.
- Read and review customer technical specifications and commercial requirements.
- Produce cost estimates using the internal costing system.
- Support customers with detailed technical clarifications on submitted bids.
- Communicate effectively with Customers and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
- Liaise with internal engineering teams to ensure technical clarifications are answered effectively and correctly.
- Carry out other tasks as may be reasonably requested by the Quotation Team Manager that are within your capabilities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Essential:
- GCSE Grade C or above in English & Maths (or equivalent).
- Good communication skills at all levels of the business, with good written and verbal communication and well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Possess good organisational skills with a genuine ability to multitask.
- Have good time management skills coupled with the ability to effectively prioritise.
- Must have permanent right to work in the UK.
Desirable:
- Degree qualified in Engineering or a similar applicable field.
- Understanding of Rotating Electrical Machines.
- Experience working within an engineering manufacturing environment.
- Some relevant experience in a similar commercial role.
- Self-confidence to challenge colleagues in an appropriate manner when necessary.
