Shift Details & Holidays:
- Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday
- Rotating weekly: Early: 6:00am - 2:00pm, Late: 1:00pm - 9:00pm
- Weekend Working: Approximately 4 Saturdays out of 8 (6:00am - 2:00pm)
- Any weekend shift worked includes a day off in lieu during the week to accommodate work-life balance.
A Day in the Life of a Workshop Technician:
As a team, we provide a transport solution to support the needs of our customers, factories, copackers and some of our suppliers across the company. You'll provide support to the Transport team to deliver a seamless, proactive service for our 24/7 operation. The department is responsible for the successful delivery of our products including inbound and outbound deliveries as well as work undertaken for and by 3rd parties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend the weekly workshop meeting with active participation
- Ensure all H&S maintained whilst on-site at work
- Complete DPR's / NCE / Ilearn
- Keep the MOT pass rate at above 90%
- Carrying out all maintenance and Inspection on a fleet of trailers, tankers and vehicles in line with DVSA and Ministry of Transport regulations and working to the guide to maintaining roadworthiness.
- Ensuring that all vehicles and equipment complies with all UK road legislation.
- Management and delivery of small projects
- Maintaining all Health and Safety standards as laid down in the company H&S policy.
You Will Have The Following:
- NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification in vehicle mechanics - Essential
- Full LGV / HGV licence ID desirable but not essential.
- Driver CPC is desirable but not essential as training can be provided.
- Experience within an HGV Technician role - desirable, not essential.
- Experience within a HGV workshop environment
- Working knowledge of a workshop environment and practices
- Experience of working within a technical team
- Working to demand objectives and tracking completion
