A great opportunity has arisen for a proactive manufacturing / engineering material handler to join an expanding manufacturing company who supply to the power industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate counterbalance forklifts (various tonne capacities) to safely move heavy engineering materials, pallets, steel, coils, frames, and machines.
  • Load and unload flatbeds, wagons and curtain-siders in line with safe working procedures.
  • Transport components between stores, machining areas, fabrication, and assembly lines.
  • Move stillages, IBCs, crates and raw materials into designated storage bays, line side picking.
  • Carry out Goods-In and Goods-Out processes, including booking stock onto warehouse systems.
  • Perform cycle counts, stock checks and ensure materials are labelled and stored correctly.
  • Maintain organised stock locations to support efficient production flow.
  • Operate overhead gantry cranes to handle heavy or awkward components. Training will be given to candidates without crane experience.
  • Complete daily equipment and safety checks in accordance with internal procedures.
  • Adhere to strict safety standards within a heavy-engineering environment.
  • Report hazards, follow lifting guidelines and assist in maintaining a tidy, safe workspace.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and safe-working initiatives.

Beneficial Skills / Qualifications

  • Valid Counterbalance FLT Licence (various tonne experience an advantage).
  • Experience working in manufacturing, engineering, logistics, or industrial warehouse environments.
  • Ability to safely handle heavy, oversized or awkward loads.
  • Strong communication, teamwork and time-management skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to follow structured processes.
  • Experience operating overhead cranes or other lifting/rigging equipment.
  • Experience working with metal stock, large components, or heavy machinery.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems.

Additional Details

  • Week 1 - Mon - Fri - 6am - 2pm
  • Week 2 - Mon - Thurs - 12:30pm - 10pm (every Friday off)
  • Permanent role
