Overview

In this exciting new Product Manager – Built-In Cooking position, you\’ll have autonomy and take ownership of the Built-In Cooking domestic appliances categories from Midea Groups factories, creating innovative and creative product strategies to help establish Midea in the UK for long term growth. Not only will you have full accountability on the product strategy, you will work closely across all departments of Midea UK to ensure Midea Groups brands grow within the UK. With the support of the Head of Product Management, you’ll also work very closely with our factories and ensure that our category line-up is designed to maximize business potential and define short, mid, and long-term commercial plans to take our business to the next level.

Key responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the BI Cooking product roadmaps across multiple categories to define Midea UKs future success over the next 1, 3 and 5 years.
  • Develop and implement the sub-category line ups to meet the needs of the local market to achieve growth targets.
  • Manage the product lifecycle from ideation to launch including pricing, positioning, promotion as well as feedback on product development.
  • Manage the process of constant product improvement, enhancing the user experience.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the competitive landscape for your designated product groups.
  • Consider and implement initiatives in conjunction with business planning to ensure budgeted gross sales and net profit is delivered for each category.
  • Identify new opportunities within the customer base and formulate clear strategies to help grow Midea share within each account.
  • Provide effective and timely reports of product performance and analysis, to help the steer product strategy and performance.
  • Work closely with MUK’s logistics and finance departments and regional product managers, collaborate with MUK\’s sales team and also support MUK\’s marketing function.
  • Be the expert and champion for your categories building credibility with internal and external partners.

Desired Experience / Qualifications:

  • Experience in consumer electronics product management (preferably Built-in Cooking/MDA) within the UK market.
  • Experience of working with OEM/OBM manufacturers.
  • Strong commercial knowledge, comfortable analysing and working with complex data (sales data, margins, pricing etc).
  • Proven track record of product and promotional category management.
  • Ability to understand key drivers of category P&L.
  • Experience of working with international Factories and a larger matrix organisation, as well as external partners & agencies.
  • Track record in achieving budgets/business plans and demonstrating good business and strong financial acumen.
  • Ability to develop existing and new relationships.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A excellent standard of PC literacy (Microsoft Office including proficient use of Excel)
  • A critical thinker and problem solver.
