The Opportunity
- Work in-house/client-side for an investor/developer with a regional portfolio.
- Report directly to the business owner and have the opportunity to play a vital role in its success.
- Innovate and challenge existing processes as you seek constant improvement and adapt to new challenges.
- The opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of properties, including offices, industrial, residential and office-to-residential conversions, with projects usually within a 1-hour radius of the office.
The Company
- An SME with a solid financial background and an established portfolio of properties.
- Owns and manages a mix of commercial and residential properties located across several regional towns, most within one hour of Daventry: Rugby, Weedon, Kettering, Wellingborough, Leamington Spa, Grantham, and Northampton.
- The portfolios owned/managed produce a rental income of nearly £10m per annum.
- There is a pipeline of development opportunities that will grow the portfolio over time.
- The Team consists of Commercial Property Surveyors, Building Surveyors, Residential managers, finance, and operatives to carry out repairs and refurbishments.

- Keen to provide staff with the autonomy and freedom to get on with the job without micromanaging.
The Role
- Manage and oversee the building surveying function within the business and manage the individuals within the team.
- A range of work including development opportunities; maintenance and refurbishment projects; and professional building surveying.
- Collaborate with the wider property team to ensure a holistic approach to problem-solving.
- The management and delivery of development opportunities.
- Acting as the Employers Agents or Contract Administrator.
- Project management of all works associated with internal refurbishments, building extensions and complete redevelopment.
- Drafting specifications and managing the production of drawings.
- Appointment of consultants
- Oversee all aspects of Health and Safety.
- Dilapidations: responsible for producing interim and terminal schedules of dilapidations and negotiating with the outgoing tenant or their advisor
- Building Pathology: identifying the cause of problems within a building and specifying a practical and economical solution
- Building surveys for acquisitions
- Party Wall Agreements
- Landlord’s periodic inspections
- Reviewing proposed Tenant Alterations
- Planning Applications
