Middlesex University is seeking two skilled Front-End Engineers to join our Applications Development Team in the Digital and Library Service to carry out analysis, design and front-end development of University websites and web and mobile applications.

Working with software engineers in the Applications Development Team, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to transformative initiatives to create visually appealing, engaging, user-friendly and on-brand interfaces to our applications to enhance the digital experience of our global user community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out analysis, front-end technical design, configuration and implementation of University websites and web & mobile applications.
  • Develop responsive, accessible and secure user interfaces following coding and quality standards.
  • Work effectively with the engineers in the Application Development & Data Engineering & DBA services Teams to provide seamless integration of design and functionality and optimise the user journey.
  • Collaborate with users and liaise effectively at all levels, including supporting users in testing.
  • Carry out regular front-end development support and maintenance tasks for University websites and web & mobile applications to agreed timescales and to quality standards.
  • Optimise web and mobile applications for maximum speed, scalability and accessibility.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends to continuously improve skills and apply best practices.
