We are here to support, promote and develop voluntary and community action in Middlesbrough. Tees Valley Together (TVT) is a charity with community at its heart. We work to reduce poverty and improve life chances by delivering practical, person-centered services and support, as well as supporting other VCSE organisations in their own delivery objectives. This new role will lead on funding strategy, grant management, programme development and oversight and impact evaluation helping to sustain and grow the charity’s work. It’s a key role for someone who is confident managing funder relationships, delivering projects, and building evidence of impact. You will work closely with the CEO and Operations Manager to ensure we meet funder requirements, design new initiatives, and shape a sustainable future for Tees Valley Together.
The hours of work for the role will typically be worked Tuesday through to Friday from 8:30am to 3:30pm at the Charity hub. There will be times that you will be required to attend meetings offsite and attend events on behalf of the charity.
Key Responsibilities- Funding & Income Generation
- Lead on developing and delivering the charity’s funding strategy
- Research, write, and submit grant applications (small and large)
- Manage grant reporting and ensure compliance with funder expectations
- Develop proposals for new income-generating initiatives and partnerships
- Identify and pursue unrestricted funding and earned income opportunities
- Lead on grant-funded project launches and communication with funders
- Maintain a grant pipeline and funding calendar
- Work with the CEO and staff team to shape and deliver new project ideas
- Together Works Programme Oversight & Development
- Further develop the Together Works Programme, including building a team and income streams to fund it
- Oversee the delivery of the Together Works Programme, working with delivery leads
- Monitor project budgets, outputs, and milestones
- Coordinate with partners and community stakeholders as needed
- Evaluation & Impact
- Lead the development of a monitoring and evaluation model for the charity
- Coordinate data collection across services to evidence outcomes and impact
- Produce evaluation reports for funders, trustees and community stakeholders
- Support the team to build impact tracking into day-to-day delivery
- External Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with funders, partners and collaborators
- Attend meetings and represent the charity when required
- Contribute to public communications (with the CEO and Comms Lead) about funded work and successes
- Promote a culture of learning and evidence-led delivery within the charity
- General
- Contribute to quarterly trustee reports and annual impact reporting
- Maintain appropriate records for all funding and programme activity
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to support the overall aims of TVT
- Engage in personal and professional development as required
- Undertake other duties in line with the role as requested by the CEO or Trustees
- Deliver and support training for staff and volunteers as required

- Proven track record of writing and securing grant funding
- Strong project management and reporting skills
- Experience of partnership working and external representation
- Confident working with budgets, funder portals and reporting templates
- Knowledge of monitoring, evaluation, and impact reporting in the VCSE sector
- Ability to manage time across multiple priorities and work independently
- Knowledge of the challenges facing communities like Hemlington
- Familiarity with community development, social value, or poverty reduction
- Experience in a charity or social enterprise setting
- Understanding of the funding landscape for the VCSE sector
- Degree-Level Community Development Project or Operations Management
- Food Hygiene Level 2 (or willingness to achieve).
- Safeguarding (or willingness to update).
This role is part time, 26 hours per week. The closing date for this job is 30 November 2025 - 5:00pm.
