Middlesbrough Football Club is looking to appoint a Lead Performance Analyst to oversee and lead the Performance Analysis within our Category 1 Academy. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the day‑to‑day operations of the Academy Analysis department, ensuring the delivery of high‑quality analysis support across all age groups to enhance player and team development. The role will play a key part across all phases of the Academy, delivering performance analysis to support both Academy staff and Academy players.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide pre, post and live analysis for relevant age group.
- Provide Individual Learning Plan support for relevant age groups.
- Maintain and manage performance analysis databases for the players and staff, ensuring accuracy and accessibility of information.
- Develop relationships with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) across the Academy.
- Develop relationships with external stakeholders for the benefit of the Academy.
- Undertake any other duties as reasonably required in line with the needs of the Academy.
About the Candidate:
- Proven experience of working in an elite sporting environment.
- Have experience of using the relevant software at Middlesbrough Football Club (e.g. Hudl, Wyscout, Impect etc.).
- Demonstrate leadership and management experience.
- Have a strong technical and tactical knowledge of football.
- Highly proficient in IT systems, with the ability to manage, analyse and present performance data.
- Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and build effective working relationships.
- Able to work to demanding schedules and meet deadlines within a high‑performance environment.
- Highly motivated and driven, with a proactive approach to work.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with players, staff and stakeholders.
