You will have responsibility for focusing on the enforcement of fair trading, product safety and tobacco control legislation, using an intelligence led approach, working closely with other enforcement agencies to support the service to achieve its broader public protection aims.
The Public Protection Service is seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced Trading Standards Officer to work as part of a dynamic Trading Standards Team within a multi-disciplinary service which includes Trading Standards, Licensing, Environmental Health, Environmental Protection, and Private Sector Housing.
Qualifications:
- a degree or diploma in Trading Standards;
- a Diploma in Consumer Affairs and Trading Standards (DCATS);
- Level 6 Trading Standards Professional apprenticeship;
- Trading Standards Practitioner, including metrology, or equivalent.
Candidates should ideally have at least 2 years' experience as a Trading Standards Officer working in trading standards enforcement.
