Salary: £34,314 – £42,708 (Plus 15% market supplement increasing salaries to £39,461 to £49,114)

Overview

Are you ready to take your social work career to the next level while making a lasting impact on children and families? Middlesbrough Council is seeking passionate, qualified social workers to join their Children Looked After Team.

Duties Include

  • Undertaking statutory home visits within timescales and excellent recording and timekeeping skills.
  • Prepare reports for and attend Child Looked After reviews, hold monthly Care Team meetings and record them in a timely manner.
  • Attend strategy meetings, stability meetings and be confident and competent in undertaking Child and Family Assessments, Viability Assessments, Special Guardianship Support plans and Assessments, Discharge statements for court and together or apart assessments and completing Child Permanence Reports.
  • Responsible for managing your own caseload and will need excellent report writing skills.
  • Demonstrate working in a relationship based and trauma informed way committed to supporting our children to achieve permanence in a timely way and supporting them to understand their history and journey into care, supporting relationships with their families and re-assessing family members to consider safe reunification planning and reducing the number of children in our care service.
  • Condensed working hours are considered; you will be part of a supportive team of committed practitioners and will be expected to be in the office twice per week. The team operates a duty rota and on your duty day you will be expected to be office based. The main office building is in the city centre where there is parking within walking distance.
