About Us
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Neighbourhood team as part of the management structure. You will help to develop our multi‑agency approach aimed at doing things with communities to improve the lives of local people.
Responsibilities
To be successful in this role you need experience in communicating with internal and external agencies including elected members, statutory services, key national and local stakeholders, community and voluntary groups, as well as individual members of the public. You will also need to have a good understanding of the issues facing Middlesbrough.
You will have responsibility for leading in all aspects of neighbourhood working and be the champion for your locality covering the West area of Middlesbrough. You will manage a range of staff including area care teams, community development staff, community navigators, key link workers, library and community hub staff, neighbourhood safety wardens and community safety officers. There will be a significant focus on prevention and early intervention as well as building social capital within our communities.
Additionally you will fulfil our commitment in relation to the community safety partnership by taking robust enforcement action where appropriate to protect the public from those causing significant and persistent harassment, alarm or distress in our communities.
You will lead on the development of neighbourhood plans at a local level and chair multi‑agency meetings to ensure that actions are progressed and monitored. You will also ensure that the work within the neighbourhood connects back to the Council’s corporate priorities.
You will be required to prepare and present reports for the Head of Service, the Council’s Corporate Management Team and, where appropriate, outside agencies.
