About this role
We have an exciting opportunity within our Neighbourhoods team to lead community engagement and neighbourhood work in the West area of Middlesbrough. As Neighbourhood Manager you will champion the community, ensure initiatives align with Council corporate priorities, and build social capital through prevention and early intervention.
Key responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of neighbourhood working and coordinate multi‑agency actions.
- Manage staff, including area care teams, community development and navigation teams, key link workers, library and hub staff, neighbourhood safety wardens, and community safety officers.
- Take robust enforcement action where appropriate to protect the public from significant and persistent harassment, alarm or distress.
- Develop neighbourhood plans at a local level and chair multi‑agency meetings to monitor progress.
- Prepare and present reports to senior Council teams and external agencies.!==>
Qualifications and experience
- Experience in community or social services management.
- Strong stakeholder engagement across local authorities, statutory services and community groups.
- Knowledge of local issues in Middlesbrough and experience working with elected members.
- Leadership and staff management skills.
- Understanding of community safety and enforcement processes.
