We have an exciting role on offer within our Residential Services as a Resource Worker. Please note this vacancy is part time working 18.5 hours per week.
As a Resource Worker in our Children’s Home Support, you will support children to enjoy everyday life. If you are you looking to make a real and lasting difference in the lives of children and young people, this may be the opportunity you are looking for!
We are seeking caring, committed individuals who can provide consistent support, genuine connection, and high-quality care. In this rewarding role, you will be working within an environment, supporting young people with a range of specific care needs, including autism, physical disabilities, complex emotional needs, additional needs, and behaviours that may challenge.

This includes meeting their physical, emotional, intellectual, behavioural, health, social, and cultural needs, ensuring each child is supported to thrive through self-development. Our children and young people benefit most from adults who are flexible, enthusiastic, and ready to get involved in everyday life. This includes planning, organising, and taking part in fun social activities such as trips out, sports, creative hobbies, or simply enjoying music and meaningful conversations. Your willingness to adapt, engage, and respond to individual needs is essential.
We are committed to delivering care through therapeutic approaches and restorative practices, and we are passionate about helping children and young people build confidence, develop self-esteem, and achieve their aspirations. Our Home Support Team also plays an important role in helping children feel happy, safe, and included within their homes and communities. You may support children with disabilities with personal care to remain in their own homes through short breaks and tailored support, develop independence, and enjoy positive experiences.
If you are someone who brings compassion, energy, flexibility, and a sense of fun and you are passionate about making a positive difference we would love to hear from you. The role is based primarily at West Middlesbrough Family Hub; however, you will also have opportunities to work across other children’s homes within MBC and support young people living in the community where required.
