This is a fixed term vacancy until 30/09/2028. We have an exciting role on offer within our Public Health Service as a Research Co-ordinator. Middlesbrough Council with Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council and Teesside University has secured over £5 million funding from the National Institute of Health Care Research (NIHR) to establish a Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC). We need a team of enthusiastic professionals to support this.
Working with the rest of the HDRC team, the Research Co-ordinator will support research delivery and performance across the locality and champion the role of research across the two Local Authorities. They will also be responsible for helping to enable the development of the HDRC, leading to an embedded infrastructure with research activity becoming the foundations and culture in Middlesbrough Council and Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council.
The Research Co-ordinator will work as a team but will be working across all three themes, working with the relevant directorates in Middlesbrough Council and Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council – specifically the themes are:
- Children’s and Families
- Adult Social Care
- Regeneration and Economic Growth
The role will primarily support research investigators, collaborations, and the delivery of other studies. Given the novelty and uniqueness of the roles, we are excited to welcome applicants from a diverse field and backgrounds – the strength of the HDRC team comes from a varied blend of skills and experiences. HDRC South Tees is one of 30 that the NIHR was funded in 2022 and 2023, requiring the team to collaborate locally and nationally.
