Hours: 37 hours per week

We are seeking to appoint a Public Health Analyst to work within the South Tees Public Health team. The post will provide public health intelligence expertise to the Public Health Team, the wider Councils and to our partners.

The post holder will provide specialist data and intelligence analysis and interpretation to understand the health needs of the population, addressing health inequalities, determining priorities for action, and contributing to an understanding of the wider determinants of health. The post holder will need experience of working with data and a knowledge of statistical techniques.

A key focus will be to support key business processes such as needs assessment, equity audits and health impact assessments. The post holder will also have a key role in relation to the performance monitoring of public health programmes and outcomes and will work across departments and directorates to embed public health performance measures into corporate and directorate reporting requirements.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment. The role will be challenging and varies and requires flexibility, ability to work autonomously and prioritise workload to meet conflicting deadlines.

The post holder will also need excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to present complex public health intelligence to a wide range of audiences in ways that are accessible, meaningful and appropriate for use.

The post-holder will work alongside a public health intelligence specialist and another public health analyst in the intelligence team. The post holder will work in a broad, multi-skilled blended home/office working environment dependant on the needs of the service. Public Health South Tees covers two local authority areas Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland.
