We have an exciting opportunity within the Council’s Corporate Finance service to join the Business World team as a Financial Systems Support Officer.
This role is well suited to an individual with technical systems experience, with an understanding of how financial data is processed and controlled within a finance environment. This is an important role in supporting and enhancing the Business World (Unit4 ERP) system, contributing to its effective operation across the organisation.
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, customer-focused and proactive, with a clear interest in financial systems and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working as part of the Business World team, you will provide day-to-day support for the Business World system, managing and resolving user queries in a timely manner while delivering a high standard of customer service.
- You will support the delivery of the Business World work plan, contributing to system development activity, assisting with testing, and helping to ensure that system changes are effectively implemented and meet organisational requirements.
- You will also contribute to the creation and maintenance of system documentation, user guides and processes, supporting consistent and effective use of the system, and delivering user training where required.
Key Requirements:
- We are looking for someone with proven experience of working with large and complex financial systems, who is motivated to deliver a high-quality service and contribute to ongoing system improvement.
- You will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a logical approach to diagnosing and resolving issues, and the ability to manage your workload effectively.
- You will also have well-developed communication skills, enabling you to support and advise users at all levels of the organisation.
- A good understanding of system controls and user access management is desirable, along with experience of contributing to system improvements or development activities.
- Experience of SQL report writing and system automation, ideally within Business World, would be advantageous.
- A strong customer focus is essential, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a changing technical environment.
