We have an exciting role on offer within our Environmental Services as a Bereavement Services Manager. We are seeking a compassionate and strategic leader to manage Middlesbrough’s Bereavement Services, including the Crematorium and Cemeteries. This is a unique opportunity to lead a service that provides vital support to families during times of loss, ensuring dignity, respect, and compliance at every stage.
To be successful in this role you need an ICCM / APSE Certificates in Cemetery or Crematorium Management qualification obtained, Management Degree or Equivalent professional qualification (NVQ level 5 or above, CIPD), and recent evidence of Personal Development related to Bereavement Services Work.
As Bereavement Services Manager, you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight, shaping long-term service strategies and driving continuous improvement. You will ensure the delivery of high-quality, legally compliant services, manage financial and contractual performance, and lead a dedicated team with empathy and professionalism.
Please note this is a fixed term post.
