About the role

As Head of Financial Planning & Business Partnering, you will be at the heart of our transformation, working alongside our front-line services, providing advice, support and constructive challenge that helps us deliver for residents. You’ll take the lead on our medium and long term financial planning, working closely with the Leadership Management Team and Elected Members to envision and realise a sustainable, successful future for our Council and our brilliant town. You will have the opportunity to shape your team to best meet organisational priorities, and you will help us take forward our ambitions for technology and artificial intelligence, helping us deliver affordable and value for money services. You will be one of two Deputy Section 151 Officers, reporting to the Director of Finance & Transformation and supporting them in upholding their statutory responsibilities.

About You

This is a role for a candidate with an enthusiasm for learning and growth, both for themselves and the people they lead. A qualified accountant (CCAB/ACMA) with a track record in local government as a finance business partner, group accountant or equivalent, you will be keen to take the next step to a deputy role and will enjoy seeing your career flourish with the support of a Director of Finance & Transformation committed to your personal development.
