Are you experienced in working with families experiencing domestic abuse? Are you passionate about domestic abuse and ensuring that families referred to children services receive specialist support and advice focused on safety planning, risk assessment and multi-agency collaboration? Are you an experienced Domestic Abuse Practitioner, that can apply domestic abuse lens to cases and provide advice, guidance, and insight to inform decisions?

We have an exciting role on offer which is based in Front Door of Middlesbrough Children Services.

This is the central point of contact, for anyone with concerns about a child’s safety or welfare or for families needing extra support.

What You Will Do:

  • Work directly with families of domestic abuse referred to Children's Services at Front Door to ensure they can access domestic abuse support appropriate to their needs.
  • Engage with services to ensure that families are offered needs led assessments, safety planning and support at the earliest opportunity.

What You Will Bring:

  • Professional qualification in relation to domestic abuse.
  • Strong knowledge of Children Social Care policy and legislation.
  • Understanding of domestic abuse power and control dynamics, coercive behaviour and the complexity of issues prevalent when working with both victims and perpetrators.
  • Experience of working collaboratively with families to help improve access to services.
  • Dynamic approach to engaging with families to build relationships and increase engagement.
