We have an exciting role on offer within our Prevention and Provider Service as a Connect Response Officer. This position is part of the Connect 24/7 emergency monitoring and response service that delivers community alarm and telecare services to people across Middlesbrough.

As a Connect Response Officer you will install essential equipment, provide first‑aid and emergency care, and support older, vulnerable, and disabled people so they can remain safe and independent at home. You will assess the service user’s needs, offer support, and decide the most appropriate action to take. The service is delivered as a minimum of 12 hours a month on a shift pattern that includes weekends and night shifts. The role requires you to have a full UK driving licence and to be able to drive within the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and maintain equipment such as alarms and telecare devices.
  • Respond to emergency situations with high standard of person‑centred care.
  • Provide training and support to service users for the use of equipment.
  • Assess needs, recommend actions and coordinate care with other services.
  • Respond to call‑outs, cover holidays and sickness as and when required.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents and equipment usage.

  • Empathetic, patient and passionate about supporting vulnerable people.
  • Organised with excellent communication skills.
  • Technologically confident.
  • Able to communicate with empathy, provide reassurance and respond with empathy to service users.
