Student Support Mentor – Health and Care

What You’ll Be Doing
- Work closely with the Curriculum area and have an input into identifying student needs, planning and implementing strategies, coaching, intervention to support student engagement, well‑being and achievement.
- Plan and deliver a range of targeted interventions, utilising vocationally specific specialist knowledge from teaching staff where appropriate.
- Prioritise High‑Needs students if and when required.
- Attend regular training & CPD delivered by the Additional Learning Support Department in relation to the role.
- Contribute and work alongside other staff within the department to ensure that the attendance, retention and achievement of students with Additional Support Needs are effectively monitored.
What We’re Looking For
- Possess an appropriate Level 2 qualification or equivalent in supporting students with learning difficulties/care or the commitment to complete within an agreed timescale.
- Hold grade 4/C or above in Maths and English or equivalent.
- Be willing to undertake any mandatory training relevant to the role.
- Hold a Risk Assessment Qualification – Desirable.
- Hold a First Aid Qualification – Desirable.
