We are looking for an enthusiastic Hourly Paid Lecturer in Beauty Therapy to inspire and educate the next generation of industry professionals. You will deliver engaging and practical lessons, equipping students with essential skills and knowledge. You’ll support learners throughout their educational journey by offering guidance, assessment, and constructive feedback. By staying up to date with industry developments, you’ll ensure your teaching remains relevant and inspiring.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Plan a programme of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of all students.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and is developmentally appropriate to the maturity and interests of all students.
- Employ a variety of teaching techniques and resources consistent with best practices, specific content knowledge, the physical limitations of the space provided, and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
- Plan and deliver a suitable Assessment Programme ensuring marked work meets Middlesbrough College standards.
- Implement Middlesbrough College’s Core Values through the Taking Teaching Higher strategy.
- Utilise diagnostic assessment tools to identify learning strengths and needs of every student, on a regular basis, for the purpose of intervention and/or acceleration toward academic achievement.
- Participate in Interval Verification requirements including the preparation for Awarding Body visits.

- Hold a relevant minimum Level 3 qualification (Essential)
- Be a qualified Teacher or willing to work towards
- Hold a relevant Degree qualification or equivalent.
- GCSEs at Level 4/Grade C or above in English and Maths, or equivalent.

Lecturer Salary Scale
- The Lecturer Salary Scale is from Pt 5 – Pt 16. The salary progression criteria beyond point 11 of the Lecturer scale will be based on you achieving and maintaining, on an annual basis, the Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) & QTS. To progress beyond point 14 of the lecturer salary scale, you will be expected to achieve and maintain the Advanced Teacher Status (ATS).
