Executive Director of Finance
Location: Teesside
Salary: Up to £70,384.70 per annum with a market leading benefits package which includes 44 days holiday and a local government pension scheme.

Middlesbrough College is the largest further education provider in Teesside, providing predominantly further education and selected higher education provisions to over 13,000 students.
Job Purpose:
Middlesbrough College aims to improve regional economic and social prosperity. The postholder will demonstrate strategic financial leadership, implement process-driven financial change, conduct financial data analysis, and provide comprehensive financial reports to the Senior Leadership Team.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and financial information reporting skills.
- Responsible for the creation, implementation, development, and operation of high-quality financial information systems.
- Develop and maintain systems to forecast and monitor pay costs.
- Develop and maintain systems to forecast, reconcile, and monitor income.
- Line manage the Group Management Accountant, providing training and performance reviews.
- Meet all strategic KPIs associated with your areas of responsibility.
- Ensure timely preparation of accurate monthly management accounts.
- Assist with the preparation of the College’s annual revenue and capital budgets.
- Work closely with the Vice Principal – Finance and Registry in preparing statutory accounts and reports.
- Act as the College’s Freedom of Information Officer and ensure compliance with legislation.
- Act as the College\’s Data Protection Officer and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
- Identify and execute operational efficiencies in financial processes.
- Support the Vice Principal – Finance and Registry in maintaining budgetary control.
- Ensure compliance with Financial Procedures and Audit recommendations.
- Act as a College authorised signatory.
Minimum Requirements:
- Qualified Accountant.
- Commitment to continual professional development and mandatory training.
- Proven ability to produce financial plans, statutory accounts, and management accounts.
- Experience in financial regulation and control.
- Experience of managing FE funding.
- Knowledge of current issues facing the further education and training sectors.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
