Job Title: Exam Invigilator (Hourly Paid)

Location: Middlesbrough College Main Campus, TS2 1AD

Department: Exams

Reporting to: Examinations Manager

Salary: £13.82 per hour (Including holiday pay), £14.57 per hour for specialist exam invigilator duties (including holiday pay)

Basis: Hourly Paid

Pension: NEST Pension

We are seeking reliable and detail-oriented Exam Invigilators to support the smooth running of examinations by overseeing student conduct, maintaining a secure exam environment, and ensuring compliance with exam regulations. Key responsibilities include distributing and collecting exam materials, monitoring for malpractice, assisting students appropriately, and responding to any disruptions or emergencies. This flexible role offers the chance to contribute to a fair academic process, with training provided. If you’re calm under pressure and have strong communication skills, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Doing

As an Exam Invigilator, you will:

  • Oversee the supervision of examinations.
  • Ensure all examination-related paperwork is accurately completed.
  • Report on student attendance and behaviour during examinations.
  • Inspect the examination venue and papers prior to the commencement of the exam.
  • Manage examination procedures throughout the examination process.
  • Handle examination papers responsibly after the examination.

What We’re Looking For

We seek candidates who:

  • GCSEs at Level 4 (Grade C) or above in Mathematics and English, or an equivalent qualification, or a willingness to work towards achieving this – Desirable.
  • A First Aid qualification – Desirable.
