We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Adult Tutor/Assessor in Childcare & Education to join our Part Time Adults team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing high‑quality learning across a range of programmes and levels, supporting adult learners to develop their skills and succeed in both college and workplace settings. You will play a key role in the full learner journey, from induction and initial assessment through to ongoing support, assessment, and verification. Please note that this role involves frequent travel to employer sites and delivery locations across the Northeast. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential requirements for the position.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and assess training for adult learners in Childcare & Education, supporting them to develop skills and demonstrate competence in both college and workplace settings.
- Plan and deliver effective teaching and learning, both in the classroom and within employer settings across the region.
- Organise and carry out workplace assessments, working closely with employers and Personal Tutors to support learner progress.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, ensuring training meets local workforce and industry needs.
- Maintain accurate learner records and track progress, including portfolios, assessments, and observation documentation.
Qualifications
- A minimum Level 3 Full and Relevant Early Years or Education qualification.
- Assessor awards or equivalent (or a willingness to work towards obtaining them).
- GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent qualifications).
- Verifier awards or equivalent (or a willingness to work towards obtaining them).
Experience
- Previous experience in assessing skills and behaviours within Early Years, Schools, and Educational Settings.
- Practical experience in the Childcare and Education sector.
- A demonstrable history of successfully meeting targets.
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient IT skills relevant to the requirements of the role.
- Strong ability to collaborate and work effectively within a team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults within the College.
- Flexibility regarding working hours, which may include occasional evenings, as necessary.
