Tutor Assessor - Business & Accounts

Join our dedicated team as a Tutor Assessor in Business based in Middlesbrough, where you'll play a vital role in developing the next generation of finance and business professionals. Working with apprentices and learners, you'll combine teaching, coaching, mentoring and assessment to help individuals build the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to succeed in their careers. Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of accountancy apprenticeship and training learners, ensuring they make timely progress, achieve their qualifications and successfully complete their programmes.
• Deliver engaging teaching, learning and assessment activities that develop learners' knowledge, skills and behaviours in line with apprenticeship standards and qualification requirements.
• Conduct regular learner reviews, provide constructive feedback and implement effective interventions to support achievement, retention and progression.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, working collaboratively to support learner development, workplace competence and programme growth.
• Assess occupational competence and maintain accurate learner records, ensuring all activity meets apprenticeship, awarding body and funding compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• A relevant Accountancy qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
• Assessor qualification (or willingness to achieve).
• GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Mathematics (or equivalent).

Experience

• Experience of working within the accountancy or finance sector.
• Experience delivering training, teaching, coaching or mentoring learners.
• Experience assessing learner competence and providing constructive feedback.
• Experience managing a caseload and supporting learners to achieve successful outcomes.

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of accountancy principles, processes and industry practice.
• Ability to deliver engaging learning sessions and adapt teaching to individual learner needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and support learners.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate records.
