We are seeking an enthusiastic and well-organised individual to deliver high-quality teaching and learning, supporting students to achieve their full potential. You will plan and deliver engaging programmes of study within A Level Psychology, create a positive and inclusive learning environment, and apply a range of effective teaching and assessment strategies to meet individual learner needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver programmes of study that meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of all students.
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports learning and reflects the maturity and interests of learners.
  • Use a range of effective, evidence-based teaching and assessment strategies to monitor progress and provide high-quality feedback in line with College standards.
  • Provide pastoral support and contribute to the Thrive programme to support students’ personal development beyond the curriculum.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and promote Middlesbrough College’s Core Values, ensuring high standards in teaching, learning, and student support.

Qualifications

  • To be a qualified Teacher
  • To hold a relevant degree, or equivalent.
  • GCSEs at Grade C /Level 4 or above in English and Maths, or equivalent.

Experience

  • Relevant experience of teaching level 3 psychology.
  • Experience in planning and delivering exam-based qualifications.
  • Track record of good and outstanding teaching outcomes.
  • Current knowledge of IAG relating to career opportunities in associated areas for post-16 learners and current HE progression routes.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Current knowledge of the Ofsted EIF, and the impact of this on classroom delivery.
  • Knowledge of the range of courses offered in Post 16 education that are progression routes for students studying in this area.
  • Knowledge of current evidence-based research and best practice in teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Good knowledge of tracking student achievement and providing appropriate support strategies in exam-based subjects.
