The Role

Middlesbrough College is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Security Trainer to deliver engaging, high-quality training programmes that prepare learners for successful careers within the security industry and wider workplace environments. In this rewarding role, you will deliver accredited qualifications, support learners to achieve their goals, and work closely with employers and industry partners to enhance employment opportunities and career progression. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality training, assessment and support to learners across security, employability and first aid qualifications.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons and schemes of work that meet awarding body and College quality standards.
- Support learners to overcome barriers, develop employability skills and progress into employment, apprenticeships or further training.
- Assess learner work and maintain accurate records in line with awarding organisation and quality assurance requirements.
- Build effective relationships with employers and industry partners to support learner progression and positive outcomes.

Qualifications
- Relevant Level 3 qualification (or above) within the Security sector.
- Qualified Teacher Status, or willingness to commence an appropriate teaching qualification upon appointment.
- Grade C/4 or above in Maths and English (or equivalent).
- Commitment to undertaking mandatory training relevant to the role.
- Assessor/Verifier, IQA, SIA Licence or First Aid qualifications would be advantageous.
Experience
- Experience working within the Security sector and/or delivering security-related training programmes.
- Experience delivering training, teaching, or supporting adult learners.
- Experience supporting learners to achieve their learning, employment and career goals.
- Experience working with employers and supporting employability or workforce development initiatives.
- Experience delivering accredited qualifications and assessing learner achievement.
Knowledge & Skills
- Excellent planning, organisation and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate learners.
- Ability to support learners in overcoming barriers and achieving positive outcomes.
- Good digital skills, including Microsoft 365 and online learning platforms.
- Understanding of safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, with a commitment to creating a positive learning environment.
